Almost twenty-three years ago, my beloved daddy took off for heaven. He had been diagnosed with AML (leukemia) just three weeks earlier. Today would have been my dad's 93rd birthday. Because he passed away as a very young age (turned 70 in the hospital), it is hard to envision my dad as an old man. How I wish he could have lived to have seen Amy grow up, attend Christian college, marry and be a lovely wife to Brian and loving mother to her four children, serve the Lord in full-time Christian service as a principal in a Christian academy.... to know Chip answered God's call into the ministry, went to Bible college and then on to Seminary, and today has a wonderful ministry as a student pastor.
BUT~~~~~~~ to know Dad is in God's glorious Heaven and is reunited with mom (ten years ago come July 13), it is all GOOD. God is good. His ways are good. I have accepted God's wonderful gift of salvation and know I will see my dad and mom in Heaven when my time comes to exit this life.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY!
